  • Cessna

More than eight decades ago, a small aircraft company started in Wichita, Kan., to do what others said could not be done — to build a monoplane that used a wing without supporting struts or braces. When the CESSNA All Purpose aircraft took off August 13, 1927, the aviation world was forever changed. For much of the mid-to-late 20th century, the Cessna brand was one of the highest-volume and most diverse of general aviation aircraft in the world. The Cessna brand remains one of the most known private aircraft brands in the world with a wide breadth of products finding solutions for the novice to most advanced aviator.

  • Beechcraft

In 1932, Walter H. Beech left an executive position with Curtiss-Wright Corporation to start designing and manufacturing airplanes in Wichita, Kan., with his wife and business partner, Olive Ann Beech. While many warned that there was no market for a cabin biplane with a luxurious interior in the midst of the Great Depression, the two visionaries forged ahead with their plans to build the "finest aircraft in the world" and changed the course of general aviation. Beechcraft's line of iconic King Air turboprops and built-for-adventure Baron G58 and Bonanza G36 piston aircraft have shaped the way pilots and businesses fly for more than 50 years.
