SustainableAdvantage

In a continuing commitment to sustainability, Textron Aviation's newest initiative seeks to align with our company and owners’ commitment to a more sustainable present and future. With the SustainableAdvantage℠ program, aircraft owners can now choose to offset carbon emissions, championing the aviation industry path to net zero by 2050 as stated in the Business Aviation Commitment to Climate Change.

SustainableAdvantage℠ focuses on balancing an aircraft's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions with other means of CO2 reductions across the world. This balance is one way aircraft owners can work with the OEM to meet their sustainability goals.

To ensure accuracy and accountability, the carbon footprint of each flight is measured and Textron Aviation purchases verified carbon credits on behalf of the owner. These credits offset the specific CO2 emissions. As a program participant, an aircraft owner can expect to receive verified, detailed calculations of their individual journey to their Sustainability goals from Textron Aviation in a personalized annual report.

To achieve this effort, Textron Aviation collaborates with 4Air, an organization specializing in aviation sustainability solutions. This selection was made with intent as 4Air's proven credibility and expertise align with our effort to provide aircraft owners with the highest quality options. We encourage you to contact us about shaping your SustainableAdvantage℠ journey to net zero.

FAQs

  • What are Textron Aviation's Sustainable Efforts and Goals?

Sustainability continues to be a major focus to the global aviation industry. Textron Aviation has embraced sustainable goals and efforts set by the industry.

  • What is Carbon Offset?

A carbon offset refers to a project that reduces carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to compensate for carbon emissions produced by another activity. Typically, offsets are generated from projects like forestry, renewable energy, or new efficiencies, all of which are independently verified to industry-leading standards and meet the following criteria: permanent, additional, verified, quantifiable and real.

  • HOW ARE THE CARBON EMISSIONS FROM MY FLIGHT CALCULATED?

Whether for a single flight or full fleet, all emissions and 4AIR ratings are tied to actual fuel consumption. In lieu of fuel consumption, estimates can be created using actual flight time. These detailed figures are made available to SustainableAdvantage℠ participants in a personalized annual report.

  • WHO IS 4AIR?

4AIR is a reputable and established company specializing in aviation sustainability solutions. 4AIR is the first organization of its kind that has created a rating system for the commitment to sustainability focusing entirely on private aviation. Each rating is a turnkey sustainability program, providing access to offsets, SAF and new technology initiatives. Textron Aviation is confident in the established collaboration with 4AIR for verified carbon emissions.

  • What is the Program duration?

SustainableAdvantage℠ resets at the beginning of each calendar year. For example, if you join SustainableAdvantage℠ in April, the new year will still start in January of the next year.

  • HOW DOES BILLING WORK?

SustainableAdvantage℠ can easily be calculated in your program's monthly billing. Contact our Programs team to learn more.
