Citation X Winglets

IMPROVE PERFORMANCE, AESTHETICS AND EFFICIENCY.

CX WINGLETS

They were the talk of the tarmac when they began showing up on Citations worldwide. Striking and beautiful, the upturned curves of winglets made one of the most prestigious profiles in business aviation even more spectacular.

Citation® winglets look good on the ramp - and on paper. But how do they deliver in real-flight conditions? Just ask the pilots of the Denver Broncos Citation X®. Here’s their take on how the performance of winglets matches up to the promise.

TAKE OFF

“Adding Winglets allowed us to take on an additional 600 lbs. Take off at 5C higher temperatures, and land on runways 300 ft. shorter than we could before winglets.”

CLIMB:

“We’re direct to 45,000 ft. ISA +5 in 35 minutes thanks to winglets (instead of climbing to 430, then stepping up to 450.) Cruising at 470/490 is a huge benefit.”

CRUISE:

“We’re flying 12kts faster.”

RANGE:

“The extra 300 NM the winglets give us really pay-off across water. We can fly from Maine to England – and skip the Gander fuel stop.”

FUEL:

“Talk about paying their own way, we’re saving 5% annually with winglets. We burn 35 gal/hour less than before we added them. At 500 hours a year, that puts an extra $25,000 on our bottom line.

HANDLING

“Winglets give us a drift-down and cruise altitude of FL290 instead of FL190.”

“During climb out, there’s no need to trim the rudder.”

“When we land, there’s less wobble during slowing, and more control during crosswinds.”
